The Forest owner has praised the impact of his new manager since his arrival and hopes he can stay at the club long enough to emulate the longevity of the Manchester United legendNottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi believes Billy Davies can emulate Sir Alex Ferguson's longevity at Manchester United and stay at the club for years to come.
The Kuwaiti owners have received criticism from supporters for appointing four managers in the space of seven months since acquiring the club at the start of the season.
But Al-Hasawi has praised the impact of Davies which has seen them run up six straight victories and occupy the promotion places, and now hopes he can have a career with Forest that rivals Ferguson’s at United.
"Billy will be with us like Ferguson is with Manchester United. I mean that. I would like him to stay with us,” Al-Hasawi told BBC Midlands Late Kick Off.
"The atmosphere has changed, the spirit has changed. Everything has changed since Billy has joined - and changed in a good way. Everyone is working harder and harder and that's what I want.
"I always look for the best and I know he did a wonderful job for Nottingham Forest and everybody wants him. The fans love him - and I don't blame them.”
It has been suggested that the relationship between the owners and previous managers have been dented by persistent interference in team selections and transfer policies, which as a result has led to short-term appointments.
However Al-Hasawi has dismissed these claims and instead looks to focus on working together with Davies to help the club to end its 14-year hiatus from top-flight football and achieve its status as a Premier League club once more.
He continued: "If I am a dictator I would not bring Billy Davies into my club because he doesn't like people to interfere in his job; he is a strong manager.
"It is not easy to go to the Premier League and we will work hard. I trust Billy, his staff and the players and they know they are doing the right job. Maybe it will happen. Nobody knows. I hope we will do it.
"Nottingham Forest are a club who belong to the Premier league. It is a big club."
