Blackpool managed an impressive 2-1 away win at Watford. Tom Ince opened the scoring to help dad Paul gain his first win since taking over as manager. Cristian Battochio equalised for the hosts but Gary MacKenzie sealed the win as Watford remain five points off Cardiff at the top of the Championship having played two more games.
Crystal Palace were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Leeds. Glenn Murray netted a double for the hosts while Steve Morison grabbed two of his own for visitors. The draw was enough for the Eagles to overtake Hull into third on goal difference while Leeds remain in 10th.
Connor Wickham scored his first goal for Sheffield Wednesday to hinder Leicester's promotion chances while boosting his side's survival targets. The 19-year-old scored the only goal in his team's 1-0 away win at the Midlands outfit. The loanee from Sunderland hit home a close-range volley as Wednesday move up into 19th.
Nottingham Forest earned their fifth successive win as they beat Wolves 3-1. Henri Lansbury hit home twice to help his side rise back into the play-off positions. Dean Saunders' side remain in 21st, equal on goal difference with Bristol City, who are in the relegation zone.
Birmingham beat Derby 3-1 to give the Rams their eighth straight game without a win. The Blues came back from a goal down thanks to two efforts from Wes Thomas. Lee Clark's side leapfrogged their opponents to move up into 14th while Derby sit in 15th.

Doncaster extended their lead at the top of League One with a 2-1 win at Bournemouth. Billy Paynter opened the scoring after a goalless first half with his 11th goal of the season. Moments after Matt Tubbs equalised for Bournemouth, James Husband fired home a second for the visitors to give the hosts their fifth defeat in a row.
Portsmouth moved off the bottom of the table following their 2-0 victory at home against Bury. Veteran striker David Connolly grabbed both of the goals to overtake Bury, with the visitors bottom of the table on goal difference and eight points from safety.
Sheffield United stay in the automatic promotion places following their stalemate with MK Dons. The closest effort came through Jamie Murphy but his header from Dave Kitson's cross went inches over the bar. The result means the visitors remain in 12th and are 10 points away from a play-off spot.
Crewe remain in 14th following a 2-1 win away at Colchester. Mathias Pogba grabbed the winner after 72 minutes with a cool finish inside the area. The result means the hosts drop to 19th, only three points from the relegation zone.
Carlisle managed a comfortable 2-0 win at home against Brentford to remain in 16th. Sean O'Hanion grabbed a headed goal from inside the area after 23 minutes and was joined by Mark Beck in the second half with a screamer into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Burton leapfrogged Cheltenham into the automatic promotion spots following their 3-1 victory at home. Robbie Weir scored twice after a close-range opener from Alex MacDonald. Byron Harrison netted a consolation for the visitors who dropped to fifth in the table.
Torquay United fell even closer to the relegation places after suffering a home defeat to Oxford United. James Constable left goalkeeper Michael Poke bamboozled for the opener and was joined by Damian Batt on the scoresheet before Aaron Downes gave the hosts hope with a reply. However, Simon Heslop rounded off the game to send Oxford into 10th.
Port Vale suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Southend. Sean Clohessy put the Shrimpers ahead with a penalty following a foul from Darren Purse. Britt Assombalonga grabbed the second before Lee Hughes replied in the second half. The Valiants sit in second as the visitors keep their promotion hopes alive, sitting five points outside the play-off positions.
Gillingham extended their lead at the top by five points following their 2-1 win against Plymouth. Antonio German gave the hosts the lead from a drive into the centre of the goal before Chris Whelpdale doubled the lead in the 62nd minute. The loss leaves Plymouth at the bottom of the table on 36 points.
Northampton closed the gap on the automatic promotion spot following their 2-0 win over Accrington. Chris Hackett gave the Cobblers the lead in the opening 10 minutes with a top corner free-kick. Roy O'Donovan then doubled the home lead half-an-hour into the game to leave the visitors sitting in the relegation zone.
