League leaders Cardiff picked up a draw at Derby, despite Craig Noone's dismissal. The Welsh side took a half-time lead through Heidar Helguson's header, but the hosts equalised after the winger's sending off as Theo Robinson pounced from close range.

The Bluebirds stay top, after Crystal Palace were held to a goalless draw at Hull City, while Middlesbrough gained ground on the top two with a 3-0 win at home to Huddersfield. Two from Scott McDonald either side of Emmanuel Ledesma's strike sealed a comfortable win for Boro.

Millwall moved up to fifth and have extended their unbeaten run to 12 games as Andy Keogh sealed a 1-0 win over Wolves. Leicester are fourth despite going down to a 1-0 defeat at Leeds, Luciano Becchio's early penalty proving enough for the Whites.

Watford boosted their play-off hopes with a crushing win at Sheffield Wednesday. Michail Antonio opened the scoring for the hosts but Fernando Forestieri levelled things before half-time. The Hornets kicked on in the second period - Alex Geijo, Troy Deeney and Mark Yeates sealing the win.

Wednesday are second from bottom in the table, above Peterborough who went down to a 2-0 defeat at Charlton, while Bristol City drop into the bottom three after losing 2-0 at Brighton, who are one point off the play-offs.

Ipswich climbed out of the drop zone thanks to a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest. Guirane N'daw gave the Tractor Boys the lead before Dexter Blackstock struck, but Luke Hyam and Daryl Murphy won the game for Mick McCarthy's side.

Barnsley and Burnley played out a 1-1 draw, while Birmingham and Blackburn held eachother to the same scoreline.
