Tonge, who has had four previous loan spells away since joining the Potters in 2008, will link up with ex-manager Neil Warnock, under whom he played at Sheffield United.
The midfielder has failed to make an appearance for Stoke in over 12 months since featuring in a Europa League game against Swiss side FC Thun and has only made 12 first-team appearances for the club since his September 2008 move from Brammall Lane.

"This is a great move for Michael, and I am sure he will go there and do extremely well for them," manager Tony Pulis told Stoke's official website.
"He is a great lad, but as with the others who haven’t been named in the 25-man squad here, it is vitally important for them to get out there and play regularly."
