The 29-year-old will link up with Neil Warnock at Elland Road until January, in his fifth loan spell away from the Britannia Stadium since signing for Tony Pulis' side

Stoke City midfielder Michael Tonge has joined Leeds United on a three-month loan deal.

Tonge, who has had four previous loan spells away since joining the Potters in 2008, will link up with ex-manager Neil Warnock, under whom he played at Sheffield United.

The midfielder has failed to make an appearance for Stoke in over 12 months since featuring in a Europa League game against Swiss side FC Thun and has only made 12 first-team appearances for the club since his September 2008 move from Brammall Lane.

"This is a great move for Michael, and I am sure he will go there and do extremely well for them," manager Tony Pulis told Stoke's official website.

"He is a great lad, but as with the others who haven’t been named in the 25-man squad here, it is vitally important for them to get out there and play regularly."
