The former Levski Sofia attacker failed to settle at the Bundesliga side as a replacement for Papiss Cisse, and will now try to impress Steve Kean during the club's pre-season
Bundesliga club Freiburg have confirmed that Malian striker Garra Dembele is set to join Championship new-boys Blackburn on trial.
The 26-year-old striker moved to Germany last year after notching an impressive 26 goals in just 24 games for Bulgarian outfit Levski Sofia.
He was initially signed as a replacement for Papiss Cisse, who joined Newcastle in January, but has struggled to settle at the Mage Solar Stadion - netting just once in 16 appearances.
Dembele remains under contract until 2015, but he has been given the nod to join up with Rovers as manager Steve Kean looks to bolster his attacking options alongside new signings Leon Best and Nuno Gomes.
