Enigmatic manager takes over Championship's bottom clubPhil Brown has been appointed the new manager of Preston North End.
The former Hull City boss has signed an 18-month contract with the Championship club, who are struggling at the bottom of the table.
The 51-year-old had been out of work since leaving Hull last year and he replaces the sacked Darren Ferguson, son of Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who was fired after less than a year in charge.
He takes over from interim boss David Unsworth, who oversaw the club's 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers last weekend.
Brown is relishing the challenge of reviving the Lancashire outfit's fortunes and told the club's official website: "Preston North End are a big club with great history and tradition and I am really looking forward to the challenge and opportunity."
