Another outlandish statement from the flamboyant Italian

Queens Park Rangers former chairman Flavio Briatore has revealed he would love to see Italy's 2006 World Cup winning manager Marcello Lippi take the reins at the club once they reach the Premier League

Under the stewardship of Neil Warnock, the club currently lead the Championship table after a terrific start to the season - however former chairman Flavio Briatore has indicated the former Sheffield United and Crystal Palace might not be his top choice if QPR establish themselves in the top flight.

The controversial Italian, formerly manager of F1 racing team Renault, told Chi magazine: "If we were to get into the Premier League, then my dream would be to have Lippi as the coach."

The Championship leaders visit Swansea on Tuesday as they look to stay atop the Championship table.
