The 37-year-old former Dutch international, an iconic presence on the pitch during his playing days due to his protective eyewear and dreadlocked hair, is a free agent who is apparently keen to resume his playing career.
Davids has not played serious football since leaving Ajax in 2008. But the former Juventus star is set for formal, face-to-face talks with Palace after informal talks went well earlier this week.
"On my way to Crystal Palace training ground Selhurst," Davids revealed on Friday morning, via his personal Twitter account.
Palace boss George Burley would certainly welcome a fit Davids to Selhurst Park.
"There's no doubting his intention is to play again," the Palace manager told BBC London.
"I don't know how fit he is. He certainly looks fit and there's no doubt about his quality and for younger players to see someone like that training and playing would be great."
