West Bromwich Albion yet to receive offer from Sevilla for midfielder Borja Valero
Newly promoted side insist Spanish club have not bid for playmaker…
By Danny Hart
The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Real Mallorca, has been linked with a move back to Spain in the last few weeks and looks set to move on in the summer.
Valero joined West Brom for £4.7 million in August 2008 but has admitted he wants to leave the club and end his nightmare spell in English football.
West Brom sporting director Dan Ashworth confirmed that the club have not received an offer for Valero and insists they will not allow the Spaniard to leave the club cheaply.
He told the Express & Star: "The first thing I have to say is that we have no formal offer (from Sevilla). I know there is interest, but there is no clear movement.
"It is one thing for Borja Valero to want to sign for Sevilla and quite another for us to have an agreement.
"First, someone must make an offer, and then we will analyse everything. What I will say is that we are not going to under-sell the player."
