Feyenoord chasing Manchester City's Guidetti

The Swedish striker spent the 2011-12 season on loan at the Eredivisie side and they are now keen to acquire the 22-year-old permanently, with opportunites limited at the Etihad
Feyenoord head coach Fred Rutten admits the club are interested in signing Manchester City striker John Guidetti this summer.

The 22-year-old has struggled to make his mark at the Etihad Stadium in recent seasons, with Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic ahead of him in the pecking order.

Guidetti spent the 2011-12 season on loan at Feyenoord and Rutten admits he is keen to lure the Sweden international back to the Eredivisie as he seeks to bolster his strikeforce in the close-season.

"Martin van Geel (technical director) has contact with John Guidetti,” he told FC Rijnmond. “That's none of my business. But yes, he is on our list.

“He is one of the options, just like the other players on the list.”

Rutten also holds an interest in Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost and admits he has spoken with the 25-year-old about a possible move to De Kuip.

“I'm still keeping in touch with Bas Dost. As long as he doesn't say 'forget about it', I'm still hoping,” he added. “Yes, I'm not going to lie about that. I spoke to him.”
