The 34-year-old midfielder brought an end to his England career after 114 caps and 21 goals on Monday.
Gerrard, who says he is "still in a grieving process" after England's elimination from the 2014 World Cup at the group stages, believes all eyes will be on the Anfield side next season as they aim to launch another Premier League title challenge, this time without Luis Suarez.
"My priority now, obviously moving forward, is Liverpool, and trying to finish my Liveprool career on a high.
"I've got a year left on my contract so for me the focus is this seasona nd trying to have a good season from a personal point of view, to play to my maximum, to hit top form and hopefully then I can contribute to the team doing well.
"Brendan [Rodgers, Liverpool manager] has created a fantastic team here and a very enjoyable way of playing and we've added some top players to the squad from last year.
"Of course we've lost a world class talent in Luis [Suarez] so all eyes are on us."
