Steven Reid has agreed a one-year deal with Premier League new boys Burnley, Goal has learned.

Reid spent the past four years with West Bromwich Albion but has been a free agent since his contract expired at the end of June.

The 33-year-old, who played for Burnley's bitter rivals Blackburn Rovers between 2003 and 2010, will be confirmed as a Clarets player on Monday.

He passed a medical last week and will be Sean Dyche's fifth signing on the summer, following on from Marvin Sordell, Matt Taylor, Matt Gilks and Michael Kightly.

Burnley have previously played one season in the Premier League, in 2009-10, and were immediately relegated back to the Championship.
