As revealed by Goal in December, the Premier League champions beat both Barcelona and Manchester United to the 21-year-old's signature, and will be signed for £1.5 million once all formalities are complete.
Racing Club confirmed on Thursday: "Bruno Zuculini today traveled to England to perform a medical examination at Manchester City."
Highly thought of in South America, he has played 92 times for Racing since making his debut as a 17-year-old in 2010, and will join fellow countrymen Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis and Sergio Aguero at the Etihad Stadium.
The midfielder is defensively-minded, and will battle with Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, Javi Garcia and new signing Fernando for a place in Manuel Pellegrini's side.
