Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Everton was the latest in a long line of insipid performances under David Moyes, and ensured the club cannot finish in the top four this season
Another week, another terrible Manchester United performance. But the 2-0 defeat against Everton has got some stiff competition in terms of the worst United display of David Moyes' reign.
There have been so many. The 3-2 loss at home to West Brom in September gave a sign of things to come. Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham have all won at Old Trafford in the Premier League with seemingly not much effort.
Liverpool and Manchester City pushed Moyes close to the brink in March, both breezing to 3-0 wins in Manchester as the Red Devils barely mustered any resistance.
Away from home, City won 4-1 early in the season, and Chelsea strolled to a 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge in January. Stoke City even managed to beat United for the first time in the Premier League.
In Europe there was the insipid 2-0 loss at Olympiakos.
And what about the cup exits? Swansea knocked United out of the FA Cup at the third round stage, before Sunderland reached the Capital One Cup final following a dire penalty shoot-out.
Even though they got a point against Fulham, the 2-2 Premier League draw at Old Trafford in February summed up the farcical nature of first season following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
Can you pick the worst from such a long list?
