Arsene Wenger is not the right man to take Arsenal forward, according to Goal readers who voted in our poll.

The Gunners manager has now overseen 1,000 games while in the Arsenal hotseat and celebrated his anniversary on Saturday.

But the party was spoiled by Chelsea, as Jose Mourinho's men thumped his sorry side 6-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Wenger later took responsibility for the thrashing, which all but ended the north Londoners' title challenge.

They now lie in fourth place – seven points behind the league-leading Blues – as they look to end an eight-year drought without a trophy.

The Frenchman has also seen his side thrashed by Manchester City and Liverpool this season and Goal readers do not believe he is the man to take the club forward.

The majority 56.27% of readers who voted in our poll believe Wenger is not the right man to usher in a new era of success at the club, and think now is the time for a change.
