The club-record signing missed a penalty against Bayern Munich to compound a run of underwhelming performances, and readers feel somebody else must be given the chance to impress
Mesut Ozil should be dropped by Arsene Wenger after a string of underwhelming performances for Arsenal, say Goal readers.
The German international joined from Real Madrid for a club-record £42 million in the summer - smashing the club's previous transfer record - and started strongly, notching four goals and three assists in his opening seven games.
However, Ozil's form his dipped of late and he can only boast one assist in his last 11 games, and missed a penalty during Arsenal's crucial Champions League last-16 first-leg clash with Bayern Munich - which they eventually lost 2-0.
And 63.8 per cent of you feel it is time for Wenger to drop his record signing in favour of a fresh pair of legs, while 36.3% of you are backing Ozil to come good and keep his place in Arsenal's starting line-up.
