Young: Manchester United & Arsenal both have points to prove

The winger is keen for his side to prove their critics wrong after a disappointing season, while the Gunners will be looking for a morale boost after their 5-1 loss to Liverpool
Ashley Young believes Arsenal have as much to prove as Manchester United when the two sides clash at the Emirates Stadium.

United's 2-2 draw at home to Fulham means David Moyes has only won six of 13 home games in the Premier League since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer, with the club sitting in seventh place.

Young insists the champions are determined to prove their critics wrong against title-chasing Arsenal, and close the nine-point gap between themselves and the Champions League qualification places.

"There is obviously a lot of disappointment and frustration about the place," he told MUTV. "But the spirit and character we have got means we always want to bounce back.

"There is no better place to do it than against one of the top four. I'm sure if we can impose ourselves on the game as well as we have done in [other] games at different stages, we'll go there and get the three points."

Young is expecting Arsenal to come out of the traps quickly following their heavy 5-1 loss to Liverpool as they look for a morale-boasting victory against the struggling United side.
He continued: "You always expect a reaction from a team that had such a defeat like that. It's one of them where they will look back and try to put things right - especially being at home as well and playing against a United team.

"They will definitely want to put things right but we want to turn things around and put things right too. We want to go out there and be on the front foot, playing the way we can."
