Ryan Bennett, Robert Snodgrass and Jonas Gutierrez all missed Saturday's 0-0 draw with Manchester City, with the manager admitting he has endured a "difficult week"

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton bemoaned the trio of injuries that hit his squad ahead of Saturday's 0-0 draw with Manchester City.

Defender Ryan Bennett, along with midfielders Robert Snodgrass and Jonas Gutierrez, all missed the stalemate at Carrow Road with a variety of injuries.

Hughton gave his verdict on the trio, admitting that it had been a testing week for him and his squad.

"We hope Robert's is not too bad," he told the club's official website. "I had a big decision to make. He felt his groin earlier in the week, and was then still feeling it towards the end of the week.

"It's one I probably could have taken a risk with, but there was today's game and then there's 13 more games afterwards.

"As important as today's game was, I needed to make sure that he's right for them. Ryan Bennett felt his thigh on Tuesday, which was a blow because he's a player that's been playing very well for us.

"Jonas Gutierrez felt his calf in literally the last part of training yesterday, so it's been a difficult week as you can imagine."

Hughton did have some positive news concerning striker Gary Hooper, who was taken off midway through the second half on Saturday after taking a knock.

"I think he's okay," he said. "I was taking Gary off anyway, he was working really hard and we needed some fresh legs in that forward area."
