Kaboul, Paulinho, Sandro & Vertonghen return to action in private Tottenham friendly

The foursome have been unavailable for selection for a combined 26 league matches, but all stepped up their recovery by appearing in a reserve run-out against West Ham
Younes Kaboul, Paulinho, Sandro and Jan Vertonghen all returned to action as Tottenham beat West Ham in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday.

12/1 Tottenham are 12/1 with Bet365 to beat Manchester City 2-1 next Wednesday
The four players have missed 26 Premier League matches between them since the start of December, as new manager Tim Sherwood has been forced to shuffle his pack in the middle of defence and midfield.

But they were all back on the pitch against the Hammers, with Sandro - out since the 5-0 defeat against Liverpool which prompted Andre Villas-Boas' sacking - playing the first half.

Paulinho, who last featured for Spurs against Stoke on December 29, played for an hour and was on the scoresheet in a 3-0 win.

Kaboul, who has not played since Manchester City beat the north Londoners 6-0 in November, and Vertonghen, missing since December 4, also played 60 minutes as they stepped up their recovery.

Young striker Harry Kane completed the scoring with a double.
