'We know how to beat Arsenal' - Torres raring to overtake Gunners

The Blues secured a 2-0 cup win over the north Londoners at the Emirates Stadium in October and the Spain international is confident that his side can match that result on Monday
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is plotting to consign Arsenal to a third consecutive defeat in Monday night's London derby.

Jose Mourinho's men have already beaten Arsene Wenger's side this season to dump them out of the Capital One Cup in October and will be eager to prey on a side that lost 6-3 in their last outing against Manchester City.

Spain striker Torres is bullish over Chelsea's chances of securing another win in the Gunners' backyard, which would ensure they go level on points with Premier League leaders Liverpool.

"We know how important it is for us. It's a chance to overtake them in the table and we know how important that is for the fans," Torres told the club's official website.

"We're playing Arsenal, and it's a huge game for both sets of fans.

"We've beaten them once this season at the Emirates, so we know what we need to do to win there.

"We just have to ensure we prepare for the game the best we can, and I'm sure we can go and do it."

The 2-0 Capital One Cup triumph ensured the west London outfit have won their last three games against Arsenal, who have failed to win any of their nine matches against a Mourinho-managed Chelsea.
