thumbnail Hello,

The midfielder has promised Tottenham will "bounce back" from their embarrassing 6-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium at the weekend after saying sorry to the fans

Lewis Holtby has publicly apologised for Tottenham’s dismal 6-0 thrashing by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Spurs had previously boasted the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League, only conceding six goals in the opening 11 games of the season, but were humiliated by Manuel Pellegrini's men.

And Germany international Holtby, who moved to White Hart Lane for £1.5 million from Schalke in January, has promised there will be no repeat of his team’s embarrassing performance.

“It is still hard to take,” Holtby said on his Facebook page.

“I definitely couldn’t sleep yesterday, it was probably the worst defeat in my life. Sorry to all of you Lilywhites.

“We have to show character now and bounce back from it! It isn’t over until it's over.”

Tottenham have collected just one point from three Premier League matches in November without finding the net.
