De Gea always looking to improve at United

The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has impressed with a strong start to the season, but he insists he has no intention of resting on his recent performances going forward
David de Gea has spoken of his delight at having been lauded by Manchester United manager David Moyes, but he says he will continue to work hard to improve his game.

The Spaniard has enjoyed a good run of form to start the current campaign after coming under fire early on during his time at Old Trafford.

As a result, Moyes has moved to praise his goalkeeper, however, the 23-year-old maintains that there is still plenty more to be done to better himself.

"It’s very important that the manager values your work and now it’s important to continue to play well and help the team," he told Inside United.

"I’m very happy the manager praised me but, for me, the journey doesn’t stop now - I want to keep earning praise and playing well for this team.

"I play for my team-mates and I play for my manager but I also play for the fans.

"I’m very happy with it (his performances this season). I feel like this is a particularly good moment in my career right now and I hope to continue in the same vein for some time to come.

"I feel like I’m always improving and I want to make sure that continues as well."

De Gea went on to reveal how thrilled he is at having managed to endear himself to the United faithful.

"When you win over a club’s fans, it’s a very proud moment," he added. "These are the people who pay money to come to watch you every week.

"You owe it to them to play well and give your best, so it makes me extremely happy to hear the fans singing my name."
