thumbnail Hello,

The England striker has dismissed suggestions that the Reds are over-reliant on his deadly partnership with Luis Suarez, insisting the rest of the team make their job easy

Daniel Sturridge insists Liverpool's impressive start to the season is down to the efforts of the whole team rather than simply his deadly partnership with Luis Suarez.

Sturridge has been in lethal form this season with ten goals in all competitions, while Suarez has six goals in as many matches following his suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic.

Their goals have catapulted Liverpool to third in the Premier League, but Sturridge is adamant the club's lightning progress has been the result of a collective effort.

“It’s great to play with Luis,” Sturridge told the club’s official website.

“We give defenders problems and we’re both different. It’s good to have a strike partner you can bounce off.

“We get on well and that's the most important thing. There is no rivalry there, no hidden agendas.

“We both go out and work hard to help the team. It's not about the SAS strike-force, it's about the team. The players behind us work so hard, they make our jobs easy really. We just try to do what we do best.

“It’s been an amazing start for us.”

Liverpool will look to close the gap on Arsenal on Saturday when they host Fulham at Anfield.
