Fellaini calls for Riether ban after stamp on Januzaj

The Manchester United star argues that the full-back should have been sent off at Craven Cottage, while David Moyes indicates the 18-year-old could feature against Real Sociedad
Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini expects Fulham right-back Sascha Riether to receive a retrospective ban for his stamp on Adnan Januzaj.

The defender appeared to take out his frustrations on the teenage midfielder in the closing stages of the hosts' 3-1 defeat to United at Craven Cottage.

The incident went unpunished by referee Lee Probert but Fellaini believes that the full-back should have been sent off.

"For me, it was a red card for the right-back," the Belgian told MUTV. "I hope the referee looks at the video later."

David Moyes, meanwhile, has indicated that Januzaj is likely to be involved when the Red Devils face Real Sociedad in the Champions League, having previously been an unused substitute against the Basque side at Old Trafford.

"He's definitely ready to play [Champions League football]," Moyes enthused. "He's not got a problem. We're trying to bring the boy along at the right pace if we can.

"He's not tired and we've not seen any dips in form just now so I'm sure we'll continue using him and he'll definitely be in and around the squad."
