The young winger believes Tottenham have the squad to challenge on all fronts, and is hoping to continue his good form when they take on Tromso on Thursday eveningAndros Townsend is hoping to make a big impact when Tottenham host Norwegian outfit Tromso at White Hart Lane on Thursday to open their Europa League group stage campaign.
The 22-year-old impressed in the 8-0 aggregate demolition of Dinamo Tbilisi in the play-off round, bagging a goal and an assist, while he has also made three Premier League starts so far this season.
And the Englishman is looking to maintain his excellent form as Andre-Villas Boas' men begin their European journey in the competition proper.
"When the manager gives me the opportunity I’m looking to just go out there and show everyone what I can do," Townsend told the club's official website.
"Hopefully I can get some more goals and assists and hopefully get this club through to the [Europa League] knockout stage in the new year.
“Obviously the Europa League is a massive competition and we’ve got a big squad this season, so we’re looking to really challenge on all fronts.
“We’ve got the squad to challenge on all fronts, but first and foremost we’ve got to focus on getting out of our group.
“The Europa League is no different, we’re looking to go into Thursday’s game with confidence from the win on Saturday and hope we get a good result."
