Manchester City youngster Wabara joins Doncaster on loan

The Premier League runners-up have sent the promising young defender to the newly-promoted Championship outfit for a one-month spell at the Keepmoat Stadium
Manchester City youngster Reece Wabara has signed for Championship side Doncaster Rovers on a one-month loan deal.

The versatile 21-year-old, who can play as a central defender or on either side as a full-back, joined the Blues in 2007 and was a regular fixture in the club's Elite Development Squad before making his professional debut against Bolton Wanderers on the final day of the 2010-11 Premier League campaign.

An England Under-2120 international, Wabara has since spent time on loan at Ipswich Town and Blackpool.

Wabara was also on loan at Oldham last season, and scored the winning goal in their famous 3-2 FA Cup fourth round defeat of Liverpool on January 27 at Boundary Park.

Doncaster, newly promoted to the Championship for this season after finishing top in the last edition of League One, face Blackburn on Friday evening after losing their season opener 3-1 to Blackpool on Saturday.
