The 27-year-old netted 22 goals during his debut season with the Swans and is confident he can reach greater heights as a support player behind the club-record £12 million strikerSwansea City striker Michu believes that he will get even better this season after the arrival of club-record signing Wilfried Bony.
The 27-year-old Spaniard moved to the Liberty Stadium for £2 million from Rayo Vallecano last summer and netted 18 goals in 35 Premier League appearances as a makeshift striker.
But Michu is confident that he can reach even greater heights in 2013-14 after returning to his favoured position as an attacking midfielder behind new-boy Bony, who joined from Vitesse earlier in July.
"I prefer to play behind the striker so I hope you will see a better Michu. I scored more goals when I played behind a striker last season," the Spaniard told the Daily Mirror.

"It was important for Swansea to bring in a top striker and Bony is a super player. We're pleased he has joined and he will try to help us. He has scored a lot of goals in the past."
Michael Laudrup has also improved his attacking options with Jonjo Shelvey, Alejandro Pozuelo and the returning Jonathan de Guzman during the close-season and, while Michu believes that the squad has been improved, he acknowledges that competition for places up front will be fierce.
"We will be stronger this season. It’s good that the level of the team is going up because we have a lot of new players," he enthused.
"We are really competitive now and it's difficult to start in this team. The squad is much stronger with the likes of Wilfried, Jonjo, Alejandro and Jose [Canas]. We have four competitions this year and it will be a hard season for us.
"We are stronger this year with the new players. No-one is guaranteed a place to start the season. We are all trying to impress the manager and training really hard. The level is higher now."
