Goal readers value Suarez at less than £40m

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez is not worth more than £40m, according to Goal readers.

The 26-year-old has declared his intention to leave Anfield on numerous occasions this summer but Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the Uruguayan will remain a Liverpool player for the foreseeable future.

Goal exclusively revealed that Arsenal have nevertheless bid £35m for the Uruguay striker, while news came on Friday of a new £40m bid from the Gunners.

According to our readers, however, Suarez is worth £40m at most – with 36.9 per cent voting that he is worth less than that sum.

Only 7.9% valued the striker at £60m or above, while 22.4% said they would pay £50m for him. That means 69.6% of readers deem Suarez to be worth £40m or lower.

The Uruguay international scored 23 goals in the Premier League last season - second only behind Manchester United's Robin van Persie - but his future remains shrouded in doubt, with Arsenal the only club to make a concrete offer for his services.
