Manchester City defender Rekik joins PSV on loan

The teenager has agreed another temporary move and will return to the Netherlands after spending a large chunk of last season in the Championship with Blackburn
Manchester City have confirmed defender Karim Rekik has joined PSV on a season-long loan.

The 18-year-old moved to the Sky Blues in 2011 from Feyenoord, making his competitive debut in the League Cup in September 2011 against Birmingham City.

Rekik has made just one Premier League appearance for City, in a 1-0 win over Reading in 2012 at the Etihad Stadium back in December 2012.

He has since gone on to enjoy loan spells at Portsmouth and Blackburn, moving to Ewood Park in February in a move that saw him reunited with former Pompey boss Michael Appleton.

Rekik's latest move to PSV sees him return to his homeland after leaving Feyenoord as a 16-year-old.
