The 23-year-old completed his move to the Stadium of Light from AZ Alkmaar on Monday and returns to the Premier League three years after his stint at KC Stadium, in which he managed just one goal in 28 games.

"I think it was really important for me," he told the club's official website. "I had no experience of European football anywhere, so going to Hull was good for me to get my feet wet and start playing.
"I learned a lot about myself, and I look back on it as an experience which helped to shape me into the player I am today.
"After playing in it, I knew it was a league that if you got the chance to play in it, you should do so as long as possible.
"I really appreciate the club making the investment in me as a player, and I want to give that back."
