Wilfried Bony is set to join Swansea City in the next 24 hours, Goal understands.

The forward will complete the formalities of a move to the Swans after the Premier League club agreed to pay Vitesse Arnhem a club record £12 million.

Swansea have beaten off competing interest from West Ham to capture Bony, with Hammers boss Sam Allardyce revealing back in April that the Londoners were tracking the prolific forward.

But the Ivory Coast international expressed his desire to move to the Capital One Cup winners at the end of last month.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins confirmed on Monday that there were just "a few details" to finalise before the club could announce the signing of Bony, 24, after the player's agent publicly expressed his dismay over the delay of the transfer.

However, Goal understands that Michael Laudrup's side have finally reached an agreement to get their man and Bony, who scored a hugely impressive 31 goals in 30 appearances during the 2012-13 campaign, is expected to put pen to paper on his move to the Welsh club in the next 24 hours.

Bony will be the latest addition at the Liberty Stadium, with the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Jordi Amat, Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo, as well as Jonathan de Guzman on loan, having already arrived this summer.
