Chelsea winger Marin hopeful of leadership role at Sevilla

Chelsea winger Marko Marin is looking to take on a leadership role while on loan at Sevilla.

The 24-year-old agreed to join the Spanish side for the 2013-14 season from the Europa League winners after finding his opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge last term.

And the Germany international is excited by the challenge of helping Sevilla to improve their on-field fortunes.

"I am arriving at a club with a lot of tradition and I hope to help Sevilla return to where they were just a few years ago," he said during his official unveiling.

"I hope I can take on the role of leader, especially having spoken with Ivan Rakitic, who is also considered a leader here."

Marin only featured on six occasions in the Premier League last season as Chelsea secured a third-place finish.

The midfielder has appeared for the national team on 16 occasions, scoring one goal.
