Despite a difficult debut year in the Premier League in which he scored just five goals, the Uruguayan remains integral to Mauricio Pochettino's plans for Saints' upcoming campaign
Ramirez cost Saints in excess of £12 million, but struggled throughout the 2012-13 Premier League season, scoring just five goals in 26 appearances; and recent reports have linked the Uruguay international to Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
However, speaking to tuttomercatoweb.com, Saints manager Pochettino sought to put an end to such rumours, suggesting that the player was an integral part of his squad for next season.
"He's [Ramirez] happy with us and we are counting on him for next season" he said.
"It's normal that a lot of clubs are interested in his quality, but we don't listen to transfer rumours. We are building for next season with him on board."
