The former Groningen midfielder says he is looking forward to the prospect of lining up alongside his fellow Dutchman in the Premier League next season after joining the VillansAston Villa's latest signing Leandro Bacuna says is eagerly awaiting the prospect of playing alongside his hero Ron Vlaar.
The 21-year-old joined Paul Lambert's side on a three-year deal from Eredivisie outfit FC Groningen and is hoping for a "new beginning" at Villa Park.

"In the Eredivisie I have played against him and he made a very good step to come to Aston Villa and now I am following in his footsteps," he told the club's official website.
"He is a really nice guy and has the attitude to be a captain and I think we can hang around together a lot.
"It is really nice for me to have someone who can help me settle in. He is a hero in Holland. He is doing well and he is a good defender."
The Netherlands under-21 international admits the Premier League is a step up for him but feels it is one he is ready to take.
"It is another level," he confessed. "The Premier League for me is the top level and everyone wants to play in the Premier League.
"You have to improve yourself and it is going to be a difficult task but we have to fight and show ourselves.
"It is a nice time to come to the Premier League and show yourself. It is a new team and you are meeting a lot of players. It is good for yourself and good for everybody. It is a new beginning.
"I'm going to do my best. I'm going to try and make a lot of goals and be a fan favourite."
