Poll of the Day: Is Schurrle good enough for Chelsea?

The 22-year-old Germany international will be Jose Mourinho's first signing since returning to Stamford Bridge, but does he possess the quality to make an impact in the first team?

Chelsea's long-running pursuit of Andre Schurrle has finally reached its climax after the club agreed a fee with Bayer Leverkusen, and now the fans will have a chance to see what all the fuss is about.

2/1 Chelsea are 2/1 with William Hill to win the Premier League
The 22-year-old is highly regarded in his homeland and has scored 33 goals in 94 Bundesliga games over the last three seasons, but will face stiff competition to break into a Blues side already boasting the attacking talents of Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Oscar and Victor Moses.

Seven goals in 24 international appearances for a talented Germany side is an impressive record, but Marko Marin was also seen as one of his country's most promising prospects when he arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer, and has struggled to break into the team.

Will Schurrle succeed in making a more telling impact in the Premier League than his compatriot? Can he live up to the standards set by fellow former Leverkusen player Michael Ballack in west London?

Perhaps Mourinho intends to use the German in a central attacking position, in which case, is he the answer to Chelsea's problems up front? Can Schurrle succeed where Fernando Torres and Demba Ba have failed in filling Didier Drogba's boots as the club's main target man?

Is Schurrle good enough for Chelsea's first team, or will he be an expensive squad player? Can he bring the goals the west London club desperately need up front, or will he be limited to the bench?
