The former Real Madrid boss was tipped to for the previously vacant managerial jobs at Manchester United and Machester City for months as his tenure at the Santiago Bernabeu came to a close.
Despite those rumours, the newly appointed Blues boss insists that he does not feel as if he has been snubbed because he never had eyes for any other club than his beloved Chelsea.

"I have the job I want to have. I am where I want to be. I wouldn't change it for anything.
"For seven or eight months, I wanted to go where I really like it very, very much and I was in a position to say which one was the league, the club, the mentality I prefer.
"Now it's up to me to show I deserve to be here for a long time. I have a contract for four years. I hope to go to the last day of that contract. If the club then wants me to stay, I'll be more than happy."
The former Inter and Porto boss says that he returns to west London to build on the success he enjoyed in his first stint at Chelsea rather than just return to a place with familiar surroundings.
"I didn't choose for my career a comfortable position because I'm returning to a house where I was happy and successful and where the fans love me," he added. "No. I have more responsibility because of that. The expectations are higher because people know what I can deliver.
"We are a special club exactly because people never forget the professionals that gave the maximum for this club in the past.
"I want to be respected for what I did in the past for this club but I want to be loved for what I can do from now."
