Chelsea youth team goalkeeper Jamal Blackman says he is ready to deputise for Petr Cech following the release of Henrique Hilario and Ross Turnbull.

The 19-year-old shot-stopper was on the bench for Chelsea for most parts of the Europa League and FA Cup games and feels he has acquired enough experience to gain full promotion to the senior side.

"I am well equipped to deputise for Cech [following the release of Ross Turnbull and Henrique Hilario]," Blackman told Goal in Ghana when he manned the posts for a World XI side against an African XI in a charity game.

"I have learnt a lot. I was on the bench for most of the tough games and I have understudied Cech. I will deliver when I am called."

Blackman has been at the Chelsea Academy since the age of 13 and has also played for the England Under-16 and Under-17 national teams.
