Emanuelson pleased with loan spell at Fulham

The Dutchman will depart Craven Cottage this summer and return to parent club Milan but feels he improved as the season wore on, following his arrival in January
Urby Emanuelson insists his loan spell with Fulham was worthwhile as he prepares to return to Milan following his short-term move.

Emanuelson initially struggled to make an impression at Craven Cottage and found himself in and out of Martin Jol's starting XI.

But the Dutchman featured more towards the end of the campaign, culminating in him finding the net in the last minute of Fulham's season-ending victory at Swansea.

"After finding my feet a little, I think I adapted and adjusted to the demands of English football," Emanuelson told the the club's official website.

"I’d played in Italy and Holland – two very good leagues, as well as the Champions League.

"However, the football in this country is totally different – I don’t think you can really prepare for the intensity. You just have to get in and play.

"My first game for Fulham against Manchester United is one of the big highlights of my career, not just this season.

"I came in during January, which had been kind of a winter break for me – I know that they do not have those in England, though.

"It was a great opportunity for me at Fulham as I’d always wanted to play in the Premier League. That was my personal highlight."
