Hazard in, Terry out - Chelsea captain misses out on America tour

After sitting out their Europa League triumph and final Premier League fixture, the Blues skipper now misses their Stateside double-header against Manchester City
Chelsea defender John Terry has been left out of the Blues' squad for their post-season tour of America, but midfielder Eden Hazard will make the trip.

The Blues captain missed the Europa League final and Chelsea's last Premier League match against Everton, and has failed to recover from an ankle injury in time to play in two friendlies with Manchester City on Thursday and Saturday.

Hazard, meanwhile, also sat out the win over Benfica but looks to have recovered from his hamstring problem and is likely to feature at some point during the two matches.

Frank Lampard will lead the squad to the US, with the first match in St Louis on Thursday, before they travel to New York to play the manager-less sky blues in the Yankees Stadium.

Two academy youngsters make the 23-man squad for the trip, with midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek joining defender Andreas Christensen, who was an unused substitute in Sunday’s 2-1 win over the Toffees.

Ryan Bertrand also misses out on a seat on the plane thanks to a knee injury which also ruled him out of Sunday’s Premier League finale.
