Former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli insists he is not surprised the club have sacked Roberto Mancini.
The 22-year-old endured a mixed relationship with Mancini during his time in the Premier League but was eventually sold to AC Milan in the January transfer window following a training ground bust-up with the Italian manager.
Mancini was dismissed after City's shock FA Cup defeat to Wigan Athletic on Saturday amid reports linking Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini with a move to the Etihad Stadium.
Balotelli has hailed Mancini as a "great manager" but believes a lack of squad harmony under the Italian could be a reason for City's failure to win a trophy this season.
“I’m not really surprised, but I know when I was with him he was a great manager and we had one of the best teams I’ve ever played with," Balotelli told CNN.
“I don’t know why they didn’t win [the FA Cup], but obviously there were some problems inside. I am here, so I don’t know.”
