Begovic warns Stoke: Match my ambitions or I will leave

Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has warned the club he will leave the Britannia Stadium if they are unable to match his ambitions.

The Bosnian international has been reportedly been interesting both Arsenal and Manchester United following an impressive season and the 25-year-old is keen to test himself at the highest level.

After spending much the campaign in scrapping in the lower reaches of the Premier League, Stoke finally dragged themselves clear of relegation on Saturday, and Begovic is keen for the club to push on up the table.

"We haven’t spoken at all yet, but I think we will sit down this week and formulate plans from there," he commented to the Daily Mail.

"All the speculation is flattering and nice, but as long as Stoke want me, I am contracted here. I am happy here and desperate to help the club push forward, as long as they are moving in the right direction.

"I have ambition to play at the highest level and test myself at that standard, if the opportunity arises."
