Goal.com readers say Moyes should not keep Rooney at Manchester United

In a closely fought poll, the manager-to-be has been backed to sell the striker by 51.35% of voters after a reported second request to leave Old Trafford in under three years

Manchester United manager-to-be David Moyes should sell Wayne Rooney, according to 51.35 per cent of Goal.com readers.

The England striker reportedly told the club two weeks ago that he intends to seek a transfer in the summer, and the appointment of his former boss has only strengthened his resolve to leave Old Trafford.

Moyes may have given Rooney his professional debut, but the two fell out over comments in the 27-year-old's autobiography, leading to a libel court case.

There is no shortage of takers for Rooney should he come on the market, with Goal.com exclusively revealing that Arsenal and Chelsea are among the frontrunners for his signature, and 51.35% of our readership has backed Moyes to sell the striker.

In a closely fought poll, 48.65% of voters feel Rooney can turn the corner and succeed under Moyes despite a reported second request to leave in under three years.
