QPR fine Mbia after controversial Twitter outburst

The midfielder was seen asking Marseille loanee Joey Barton if they could swap places following the Rs' relegation but his claims that his account was hacked were not enough
QPR have fined midfielder Stephane Mbia after he sent Joey Barton a number of messages on Twitter appealing to swap clubs with the Marseille loanee.

20/1 QPR are 20/1 with Coral to be relegated from the Championship in 2013-14
The Cameroon international drew the ire of Rs fans as he appeared to seek a swift exit from the club following their relegation to the Championship.

Ian Taylor, QPR's head of communications, stated: "The club has concluded its investigation following a series of tweets which appeared on Stephane Mbia's official Twitter account.

"Stephane has stressed to the club that he is not responsible for the Tweets. However, the club is of the view that every player that has a Twitter account is ultimately responsible for what appears on it.

"As a result, Stephane has been fined and warned in relation to his future conduct. The club will be making no further comment."

Mbia had claimed that his account was hacked after he was seen more than once to ask Barton to switch positions, having himself played for Marseille before joining QPR in the summer.
