Tottenham star Gareth Bale has filed an application with the Intellectual Property Office in an attempt to trademark his goal celebration featuring a heart-shaped hand gesture.

The winger was not the first player to use the celebration, but the application would seem to show the winger's desire to launch a Bale brand.

The 23-year-old has been in stunning form this year, picking up both the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards, as well as the Football Writer's Player of the Year award.

Indeed, there have been plenty of opportunities for Bale to flaunt his celebration, scoring 20 goals in 30 Premier League games, and five in other competitions for Spurs as well as some great strikes for Wales.

The application was filed late in March, and covers items such as clothing, footwear, headgear, leather travel bags and, bizarrely, animal skins and hides - among others.

Bale's form this year has led Spurs to the brink of securing Champions League football, and they will seal qualification for next year's tournament with three wins from their final three games.

Rumours have been circulating that Bale could be on the way out this summer, but any potential move would surely pale in comparison to having your own logo, right?
