Swansea have been incredible despite recent slump, insists Laudrup

Despite currently being on their worst run of form since their promotion to the Premier League, the Swans manager believes his side have still had an excellent season
Michael Laudrup insists Swansea have had an incredible season, despite a poor recent run that sees them in danger of dropping out of the top half of the table.

The Swans are without a victory in their last six Premier League matches - their worst run of form since their promotion from the Championship - and sit in ninth place, level on points with 10th-placed West Ham and just two points ahead of both 11th-placed Fulham and 12th-placed Stoke.

However, Laudrup has praised his side's overall performance this season and believes they will be able to cement their top 10 place over the last four games of the season.

"We have gone over a month and half without winning and we are still ninth in the table - that's incredible," he told reporters.

"But I think that just shows you how we overachieved before this run. It depends how you look at things, but to have 40 points so early on as well as the [Capital One] cup - nobody would have expected that.

"The fixtures since then have not been easy. We have played Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea and we still have two Manchester [teams] to go.

"But I really can't say we've been poor since the cup final - not in any one of our games. We have been poor in moments but once again I can't say that we played poorly overall.

"It's always important to try to end a season well because it is good for confidence, but I can't say our performances have not been good."
