And Jones, who scored twice for United in the league last season, admits he should have scored his first goal of the season at the Emirates.
Jones told MUTV: "The first one [header] was easier, I think I should have put that one away.
"The second chance was a bit more difficult. If it had been in the air for a couple more seconds, I might have got on the end of it with a cleaner connection."
The England international never registered a goal in two years with former club Blackburn, and admits he wants to improve his prowess in the final third of the pitch.
"Scoring goals is probably something I need to work on. Hopefully I can get one before the end of the season,” he added.
