The 26-year-old was brought off after 75 minutes against Stoke City on April 4 with the problem and subsequently missed Villa's 1-1 draw with Fulham seven days later.
But Lambert has revealed the forward is back in contention to face Sir Alex Ferguson's side at Old Trafford after returning to training.
"Everyone seems to be fine. Gabby is back. So we will see how he is in the next couple of days. Everyone else is not so bad too," Lambert told the club's official website.
"Gabby picked it up against Stoke. The Fulham game was too early for him. It was a problem in the groin area. We couldn't take a risk with it.
"He has trained for the last couple of games and we will see where he is after the next couple of days. If he comes through the next few days, he will be in the squad."
Villa sit three points above the relegation zone with five games remaining and Lambert has backed Agbonlahor to cause problems to the Premier League leaders on Monday evening.
"Gabby has been playing really, really well for us. He's a threat. Everyone knows it," Lambert said.
"If he does take the field of play, he is definitely a threat with his pace."
