The Belgium international says the Scottish manager has greatly improved the club during his time at Goodison Park and has urged his team-mates to finish the season strongly

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has praised David Moyes for the work he has done at Goodison Park and says the Scot is the man to take the club into the Champions League.

The Toffees are currently sixth in the Premier League, four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, but with a game in hand and an outside chance of a top-four finish.

Yet Fellaini believes his team are doing a good job to compete with the top clubs, who operate on far bigger budgets, and says Moyes deserves praise for his work.

"In 10 years he has made the club stronger and has positioned us just outside the top four or five clubs," he told reporters.

"We don't have the same budget as Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham either, yet we are still doing well."

Everton’s hopes of finishing in the top four took a hit on Monday when they were held to a goalless drew by Arsenal, and next up for the Toffees is a trip to Sunderland.

However, Fellaini is still optimistic his side can qualify for Europe’s premier competition and has urged his team to finish the season strongly.

"Playing in the Champions League would be great," he added.

"We have a good team and I don't think we are far from it. But we have to work hard and win our games."
