thumbnail Hello,

The Belgian forward has hit the ground running with 19 goals in all competitions this season, and his strike partner is thoroughly enjoying playing alongside him

Aston Villa striker Andreas Weimann has hailed the impact of fellow frontman Christian Benteke, who has lit up the Premier League since signing from Genk last summer.

The Belgian forward's 15 league goals have played a key role in guiding his side out of the relegation zone in recent weeks, and Weimann is thoroughly enjoying playing alongside the 22-year-old.

"Christian is brilliant to play with," he told the club's official website. "He's been outstanding for us.

"He's got nearly twenty goals this season - that says it all really. It tells you how important he is for our team.

"He has scored plenty of goals but his overall play has been brilliant too.

"He holds the ball up superbly and brings others into the game. I can't think of many aerial challenges he hasn't won and he's always so strong when he's in possession.

"He only came in this summer so his English isn't the best yet but when he speaks he's really nice to everyone he comes across. He's very pleasant and polite. He's a great guy.

"He's always smiling too. When you see that, you can't help smiling as well."

The Austrian international also reserved praise for Brad Guzan, who has made the number one jersey his own this season and is currently leading the club's poll for Player of the Season.

"I don't think there have been many better keepers this season in the Premier League," he continued.

"He has been brilliant. He must be because he's keeping Shay [Given] out of the team. Shay is a brilliant keeper himself, but Brad has been outstanding whenever he's played."

"The great thing is he's no different as a person now than when he was on the bench. He's a great guy - a loud guy. You need characters like that."
