The Northern Irish defender has urged his teammates to improve their league form and finish the season strongly, starting with this weekend's game against NewcastleGareth McAuley has admitted his disappointment at West Brom's recent Premier League form, and urged his team-mates to turn things around against Newcastle on Saturday.
The Baggies, have suffered back-to-back defeats to West Ham and Arsenal, and will be looking to bounce straight back as they target a highest ever Premier League finish and points total.
McAuley admits the team let themselves down in the last two games, but insists the upcoming fixture against Newcastle is the perfect opportunity to get back on track.
"The performance at West Ham wasn’t right," he told the Express and Star. "We knew that.
"I don’t know what our record is after international breaks but there never seems to be the same energy n the team, for whatever reason.
“We were disappointed at West Ham. We let ourselves down in that game and the goals against Arsenal were disappointing, even though we could have got something from that game.
"We have lost two and we need to put it right. With Newcastle coming up, there is no better game to do it."
